Feeling like building a new outfit around the boots I have been wearing on a daily basis…WISH, WISH, WISH
I was planning on doing a huge New York Fashion Week diary and share all my photos in one single neverending post (would have been fun, wouldn’t it?), but I changed my mind right when I felt how cold it was. I knew that it would be impossible to take proper (and enough) photos outside and so I gave up and will save that for September. Not for Paris? Nope, New York was my one and only Fashion Week this season and while I feel pretty bummed about it – fomo (fear of missing out) alert! – I have a super good excuse and I will tell you all about it as soon as I can. Anyway, I Googled myself (yep, I did) and thought it would be fun to share some pictures – taken by the street style bunch that did brave the cold – of what I wore, apart from shoulder to ankle heat tech to stay warm.WHAT I WORE IN NEW YORK
In just a few days it is Valentine’s Day. It’s kind of completely nuts to have a special day to express ones love for another, but at the same time I am quite of sucker for romance. You see, I am never home during Valentine’s (duty calls in the form of New York Fashion Week, not complaining!) and I absolutely never wear red except for on the lips, there’s something about this day that makes me become all cheesy.VALENTINE’S DAY
…in with the new. Let me introduce you to my first official 5 Piece Wardrobe buy of the year. Satin metallic brocade Mary Jane pumps by Miu Miu. They’re a little bit completely different from what I usually buy, but I guess that’s the whole point of growing a great shoe collection. Just like my glitter flats, they are special shoes and I need more special shoes as the rest of my ensemble is usually a simple uniform consisting of grays and blacks. Anyway, this purchase wouldn’t be a real me buy if I didn’t have an extra argument (or two) on why I had to have them (I have this urge to always defend my purchases), so here goes. I am selling my Alexander Wang leopard pumps. If you’re interested, they’re still up for grabs here. Now who would get rid of an old pair of shoes without getting a good replacement first? Not me! Also, life is short, buy the shoes. One month down, five to go (with 4 more pieces left). Doable.OUT WITH THE OLD
Happy New Year!! Or, as we say in Dutch, Gelukkig Nieuwjaar! It is funny how this one specific date kind of resets us (or at least makes us want to reset) and start fresh, isn’t it? January 1st* is the day that calls for a look back at the past twelve months and for new beginnings – resolutions? – like no other. Like a Monday, but in capitals. Very big fat capitals.GELUKKIG NIEUWJAAR!
